The French Finance Minister, Hervé Gaymard, resigned on 25 February 2005 in a scandal over his state-funded luxury flat. Thierry Breton, Chief Executive of France Telecom, takes Mr Gaymard's place, becoming France's fourth Finance Minister within a year.
