Press Release: Benita Ferrero-Waldner to visit Tunis

Preview of a visit of Benita Ferrero-Waldner, Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy, to Tunisia on 12 and 13 October 2005. The Commissioner was planning to map out the next steps for relations with Tunisia in the light of the European Neighbourhood Policy. On the eve of the World Summit on Information Society in Tunis, the Commissioner also intended to take the opportunity to encourage Tunisia, as the host country, to set an example by applying the Geneva principles, such as respect for freedom of opinion and expression.
