Micheál Martin, the Irish Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, on 8 August 2005, launched the Irish Report of GEM (Global Entrepreneurship Monitor) for 2004. As in previous years, the level of entrepreneurial activity in Ireland remains to the fore among European countries and is second only to Poland among the participating EU member states. GEM 2004 is the sixth global assessment of national entrepreneurial activity. The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor is a long-term, large-scale multinational research programme co-ordinated jointly by the London Business School and Babson College in the USA. The research also involves a consortium of teams from each of the countries involved in the study. |
