Press Release: Mergers: Commission clears Tetra Laval’s acquisition of SIG Simonazzi

The European Commission on 26 July 2005 cleared, under the EU Merger Regulation, Tetra Laval's planned acquisition of the Italian filling and packaging company SIG Simonazzi. There were overlaps in the two companies' aseptic and non-aseptic filling activities in the European Economic Area (EEA), but the Commission concluded that the operation would not result in a significant impediment to effective competition in the EEA, or any substantial part of it.
