Press Release: Cyprus: ECOFIN suspends excessive deficit procedure against Cyprus

The Economic and Financial Affairs Council of the European Union (ECOFIN) adopted yesterday, during a meeting in Brussels under the Luxembourg Presidency, a European Commission recommendation to suspend a monitoring procedure imposed on Cyprus in July 2004 due to an excessive public deficit recorded in 2003.
