Press Release: Commission clears the acquisition of two manufacturers of printing inks by CVC

The European Commission cleared on 29 October 2004 the proposed acquisition by the European private equity firm CVC of both the printing inks and pigment manufacturing interests of the German company BASF and of the Dutch company ANI Printing Inks BV. The Commission said that the investigation had shown that the proposed transactions, which would involve the combination of the acquired businesses, would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Union.
