Press Release: Commission clears JV between Seiko Epson and Sanyo in the field of small LCD screens

The European Commission has decided not to oppose the creation of a joint venture between Japanese companies Seiko Epson and Sanyo which will produce small Liquid Crystal Display panels used in mobile phones and small portable computers among other electronic products. Although the agreement will create one of the world leading suppliers of such screens, the JV will face competition from other worldwide players.
