Press Release: The Netherlands: European development policy should focus more on MDGs and poorest countries

At the symposium 'Europe and the South: a new era of European Development Cooperation: towards policy renewal and a new commitment', development Minister Agnes van Ardenne urged that European development policy focus more on the MDGs (Millennium Development Goals) and the poorest countries. 'Next year the Commission will present its five-year plan for a new European development policy. The Millennium Development Goals should be given a much more prominent place,' the Minister told the international gathering in the Netherlands Congress Centre in The Hague
