The European Commission opened infraction proceedings against the UK in December 2003 for its failure to apply the EC procurement Directives to Registered Social Landlords (RSLs). In September 2004, the UK Government accepted the European Commission was correct in its view that RSLs are bodies governed by Public Law for the purposes of EC procurement law and therefore must comply with the requirements of the EC Public Procurement Directives where these apply. |
