International Migration Outlook 2009

The economic downturn affecting the global economy since mid-2008 has turned into a jobs crisis and international migration challenges are high on the policy agenda in OECD countries. The 2009 special edition of the International Migration Outlook served as background documentation for the High Level Policy Forum on Migration held by the OECD (Paris, 29-30 June 2009).

The contents included:

• Editorial: Addressing the Present, Preparing the Future.
Plus—two special chapters:
• How is the crisis affecting migration flows and policy as well as labour market outcomes of immigrants?
• How can both high-skilled and lesser skilled labour migration be managed to support economic growth?
