A study on the population trends of wild birds, by the (UK) Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), BirdLife International and the European Bird Census Council has found that intensive farming caused by the Common Agricultural Policy has reduced the numbers of 24 common bird species by a third in 25 years.
