Health policy and European Union enlargement

The first analysis to address the consequences of European Union (EU) enlargement for health sectors in both new and existing member states has been published. The book was written by leading health policy experts from 20 countries, brought together by the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, a partnership of 12 organizations, including the WHO Regional Office for Europe. The European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies supports and promotes evidence-based health policy-making through comprehensive and rigorous analysis of the dynamics of health care systems in Europe. The Observatory is a partnership between WHO Regional Office for Europe, the Governments of Finland, Greece, Norway, Spain and Sweden, the European Investment Bank, Open Society Institute, World Bank, London School of Economics and London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
