A Quick Look Back over 2003, May 2004

The Secretariat-General of the Commission has launched a new site at http://europa.eu.int/abc/doc/off/rg/oneyear/index_en.htm called "A year of Europe". Aimed at a general audience with the intention of answering the question "What did the EU actually do in 2003?" it gives a brief overview of the key events and achievements of 2003. The information is organised under themes. Much of the information is drawn from the General Report but it is presented in a much more accessible style with short simple text and illustrations. The electronic web version allows links to further more detailed information, but it is also possible to download the 92 page pdf brochure.
