According to Amnesty International, the European Union needs to work towards stamping out police brutality within its own borders. The criticism follows the publication of a European Parliament report in July 2003, 'Report on the situation as regards fundamental rights in the European Union 2002', which said that at least 10 people died at police hands in 2002 due to 'disproportionate force'.
