Accountants urge cap on claims

In an interview with the Financial Times, David Devlin, President of the European Federation of Accountants, said that accountants were lobbying the European Union for sweeping reform of liability law to provide them with protection against huge negligence claims. Mr Devlin also warned that EU companies could face higher audit fees if the United States insisted on regulating EU accounting firms.
