The European Central Bank has launched a Statistics Pocket Book to be published monthly. It contains both recent and historical data. While it includes comparisons with the US and Japan as well as selected macroeconomic indicators for all the member states of the EU, its main focus is the euro zone. The publication schedule is tight so the data is extremely current and it is tied to the timetable of the existing publication, the ECB's Monthly Bulletin to ensure consistency of data between the two. The Pocket Book is available free of charge on the ECB's website at http://www.ecb.int in two places. For the pdf format, look under 'Periodical publications'.
