Pupils from more than 5,000 schools from 32 European countries discussed on 21 March 2003 the future of Europe. This day of debate, named The Spring Day in Europe, developed by the EU Ministries of Education and supported by the European Commission's Secretariat General, was intended to help young people better understand what the European Convention is doing and increase pupils' and teachers' involvement in the discussions about the future of Europe. Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities in Luxembourg, published on 20 March 2003 statistical tables on a wide range of topics such as demography, economy, education, culture, leisure - related to young people aged 15 to 24. |
