Article reports that a coalition of MEPs are resisting attempts to reform their pay and expenses. The European Parliament voted 296 to 136 on 5 December 2002 in favour of putting the reforms on hold. The President of the European Parliament, Pat Cox, believes expenses should be transparent with receipts being produced for all claims. Mr Cox's reforms also propose that all MEPs earn the same salary.
