The (UK) High Court ruled on 25 June 2002 that fresh fruit and vegetable grading and labelling regulations introduced by the European Commission since 1973 when the UK joined the European Economic Community, are not enforceable because they have never been properly incorporated into UK law. Thus bent cucumbers, straight bananas and tiny peaches can be sold legally in British shops. |
