Ruggiero breaks his silence to deplore Bossi’s EU criticism

Renato Ruggiero, the former Italian Foreign Minister, criticised an attack on the European Union made at the beginning of March 2002 by Umberto Bossi, Northern League leader. Mr Ruggiero warned on 4 March 2002 that Mr Bossi's comments reflected growing anti-European sentiment inside Italy's centre-right government.
