Regulatory burdens and bad quality regulations damage prospects for competitiveness, sustainable growth and employment. To step up efforts to simplify and improve the regulatory environment for European businesses and citizens, the Commission has tabled a new series of measures. The 'better regulation package' presents a coordinated strategy to simplify the regulatory environment. It was adopted by the Commission and presented to European leaders at their Seville summit in June 2002. |
