Russia has requested Nato's help in restructuring its defence ministry and armed forces after talks in Brussels between Lord Robertson, Nato Secretary-General, and the Russian President, Vladimir Putin. Nato officials believe the terrorist attacks on the United States could provide an opportunity for the Alliance to develop a much closer relationship with Russia. |
