A paper due to be presented by Loyola de Palacio, European Commissioner for Transport, and Mario Monti, European Commissioner for Competition, on 10 October 2001 will deal with the consequences for European airlines of the terrorist attacks in the United States on 11 September 2001, and will set out what kind of government assistance the European Commission will accept. Mrs de Palacio will also present legislative proposals aimed at improving and co-ordinating air safety throughout the European Union. |
