EU adopts fish sanctions against Faroe Islands

The Faroe Islands will not be be allowed to land or sell herring and mackerel in the EU as part of sanctions agreed on 31 July 2013 for fishing too much in the North Atlantic. The Scottish government welcomed the decision, while Denmark said it is a drastic step against the small community.
