Plenary protocol of a government statement by Federal Chancellor, Gerhard Schröder to the German Bundestag on 21 June 2001 on the outcome of the European Council in Gothenburg. Among the issues covered are the violence at the Genoa summit, the irreversibility of the EU enlargement process, conclusion of the negotiations by the end of 2002, the meeting with the Polish Prime Minister, Jerzy Buzek in Frankfurt (Oder) and the Irish referendum on the Treaty of Nice.
