On 24.1.01, the European Commission made a recommendation to the Council on the 2000 updated stability programme for France, which was presented on 11.1.01 and covers the period 2001-2004. The conclusion of the Commission is that the updated programme is in line with the requirements of the Stability and Growth Pact. On the basis of the Commission recommendation, the Council is expected to adopt a formal opinion on the stability programme of France on 12.2.01. |
