The European Commission launched on 9 January 2016 a platform aimed at helping consumers air their grievances with e-commerce platforms without paying hefty legal fees.

The platform was scheduled to be operational from 15 February, for consumers or traders to lodge complaints about online purchases from companies operating domestically or in other EU countries.
