Website: European Health Insurance Card

From the 1st of June 2004, European citizens who are travelling within the European Economic Area, i.e. the European Union, Switzerland, and the EFTA countries, for private or professional reasons can apply for a European Health Insurance Card, which will simplify procedures when receiving medical care during their stay in another Member State.
