Washington introduces Russia-style sanctions against Hungarian officials

The United States said on 20 October 2014 that six Hungarians had been banned from entering the country, after considering that corruption in Hungary was weakening its democratic institutions.

The Hungarian prime minister told reporters on 24 October that his country would not launch any investigation into the corruption allegations on the six individuals without first seeing some proof.
