Tymoshenko verdict casts doubt on Kiev’s future

A Kiev court jailed Yulia Tymoshenko, Ukraine’s former prime minister and co-leader of the 2004 Orange Revolution, for seven years on the 11 October 2011, raising doubts about the country’s democratic future and its hopes for closer integration with the west.
