Thousands of people protested in Turkey on 15 February 2015 following a violent murder of a student who resisted sexual assault. While Turkish prime minister Ahmet Davutoglu condemned the crime, many protesters saw it as a highlight of Turkey's problem with violence against women.

Further demonstrations for womens' rights are expected on the following day.
