A delegation of officials from Turkey's Ministry of Justice and from the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors met with a group of Council of Europe experts on 2 September 2016.

The meetig followed a visit by the Secretary General of the Council of Europe in August, and was part of a dialogue between the Organisation and the Turkish authorities. Topics under discussion included Turkey’s obligations under the European Convention on Human Rights during its state of emergency.

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu was also scheduled to address the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on 7 September.
