Tripartite Social Summit, 16 March 2016

A meeting of the Tripartite Social Summit took place on 16 March 2016 in Brussels, preceding the European Council summit on 17-18 March.

The main theme of the Social Summit was: 'A strong partnership for job creation and inclusive growth'.

In particular, participants exchanged views on three issues:

+ the experiences in implementing the country-specific recommendations;
+ the impact of the migration and refugee crisis on the labour market;
+ the challenges linked to digitalisation.

In this context, participants also discussed the progress and overall results of the new start for social dialogue.

This initiative, launched in March 2015, aims to strengthen the social dialogue at the European level.
