Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council, 6-7 June 2016

A meeting of the Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council was held in Brussels on 6-7 June 2016. The agenda included the following items:

+ Negotiations towards a general approach on a draft law that sets up an information exchange mechanism on energy agreements between member states and non-EU countries;

+ Debate on a draft regulation that seeks to safeguard the security of gas supply by reducing the EU's dependence on external energy sources;

+ Debate on nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from diesel cars;

+ Adoption of a general approach on a proposal on the recognition of professional qualifications in inland navigation;

+ Adoption of mandates allowing negotiations on comprehensive air transport agreements with the ASEAN, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Turkey.
