Trade officials ‘optimistic’ following EU-US talks

Report at the end of the first round of preliminary negotiations between EU and US trade officials, Washington, 8-12 July 2013, to establish a EU-US Free Trade Agreement. Senior officials on both sides expressed satisfaction, although conceding there would be difficult negotiations ahead.

The second round of negotiations will take place during the week of 7 October 2013, in Brussels.
