The next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and its duration

The analysis concentrates on 3 possible options in connection with the duration of the next MFF. The main advantages and disadvantages of 5-year, 7-year and 10(5+5)-year scenarios are examined from the point of view of predictability (stability) and responsiveness (flexibility), and, in addition, from the perspective of political cycles and implementation time tables.
