The European Union announces €194 million to support Iraq at Washington pledging conference

On the 20 July 2016, the European Union announced a €194 million aid package to support Iraq at the International Pledging Conference in Support of Iraq, which was held in Washington D.C. The EU pledge covers humanitarian assistance, stabilisation and development aid, especially in hard-to-reach areas and conflict affected locations where needs are the highest.
