The Commission allocates €3 million in humanitarian aid in response to the tropical storm Agatha in Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras

The European Commission announced on 1 the June 2010 a humanitarian aid decision worth €3 million to cope with the consequences of tropical storm Agatha. Over 120 people are reported dead, and 160,000 people have been evacuated from the Pacific coast of Central America.

Agatha was the first tropical storm of the Pacific hurricane season and has brought torrential rains to Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras, provoking and floods and mudslides. The aid will provide relief to 100,000 people in the three countries.
