Swedish police have confirmed that they have kept an illegal registry of more than 4,000 Roma people living in Sweden. According to the newspaper Dagens Nyheter, the database is a family tree with information about social security numbers and addresses and arrows which show the family bonds between those registered. The Swedish government decided on the 26 March 2014 that the report on the abuses suffered by Roma people in Sweden during the 1900s would be followed up by a commission on ongoing anti-gypsyism. |
