Swedish authorities fear rise in Öresund link asylum treks

According to Danish and Swedish police in May and June 2016 there were near-daily incidents of asylum seekers trying to make it across the Öresund bridge between the two countries on foot in an attempt to skirt ID checks introduced by Sweden earlier in 2016.

Separately, Denmark and Sweden announced on the 1 June 2016 that they would be extending their temporary border controls until November 2016.
