Sócrates makes pledge on public investment

Article reports at the swearing-in ceremony for his new centre-left administration, 26 October 2009, José Sócrates, Portugal’s re-elected Socialist Prime Minister, said that his new government would place public investment at the forefront of its response to recession and rising unemployment, in spite of escalating public sector and external deficits.
