Features discussing the migration challenges facing Europe in the summer of 2015. In particular, previews and reports of a meeting between French President François Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin on the 24 August 2015. Prior to the meeting Chancellor Merkel had said migration would be the primary challenge topping the EU’s political agenda in the forthcoming months. German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere had said on the 21 August 2015 that unless the EU acted quickly the Schengen free-travel regime was at risk. Following the meeting the two leaders called for a unified response to Europe’s biggest migrant crisis since World War II. Mrs Merkel also condemned 'vile' recent protests against refugees in Germany.
