Schengen in crisis as Belgium reintroduces border controls

Belgium announced on 23 February 2016 it had temporarili reintroduced border controls with France to halt the arrival of migrants from the Calais 'Jungle' camp, which was set to be progressively dismantled by French authorities.

At a press conference in Brussels, interior minister Jan Jambon stated the country had informed the European Commission of the decision.
