Article reports that Natalia Estemirova, a prominent human rights activist, was found dead in Ingushetia with two wounds to her head after being kidnapped on the 15 July 2009 in the neighbouring republic of Chechnya, the third killing of an activist in 2009.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev expressed 'outrage' at the murder. He ordered an inquiry into the killing of Ms Estemirova, who was investigating alleged abuses by government-backed militias in Chechnya.
