Summary: The European Commission published on 23 June 2016 a a report on the partnership between the European Union (EU) and Lebanon for the period from March 2015 to May 2017. The report shows the deepening of the partnership between the two sides in an increasingly challenging environment. Further information: The report refers to the intensive cooperation in areas like socioeconomic development, security, education, governance and trade. Some elements of the relations go beyond the immediate challenges regarding the Syrian crisis. In the meantime, Lebanon undertook a series of political steps which were seen as positive by the European Union. The framework of the relations is supporting by the Partnership Priorities and Compact agreed by both sides in 2016. |
