The Council of the European Union decided on 31 March 2017 to extend the sanctions against Libya - targetting three persons - for a period of six months.

The Council first decided to impose these sanctions on 1 April 2016. The persons were viewed as obstructing the implementation of the Libyan Political Agreement (LPA) of December 2015 and the formation of a Government of National Accord in the country. The sanctions were renewed in September 2016.
