Remarks by Federica Mogherini at the Valletta Joint Action Plan 2017 Senior Officials Meeting

On the 8 February 2017, the High Representative for the European Union Frederica Mogherini participated to a meeting about the implementation of Valletta Action Plan for 2017.

After the meeting, she made a statement in which she reminded that Europe did not and would not close its doors. It would continue to work with its partners to manage migration in a fair, humane and effective way. Migration can be managed together through partnership, cooperation and respect.

She also warmed that we should not forget that migration and refugee flows are not a European phenomenon. Africa were hosting the vast majority of the world's refugees
