Text of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the European Union and its Member States, of the one part, and the SADC EPA States, of the other part.

Further information:

In June 2002 the Council authorised the opening of negotiations for Economic Partnership Agreements with the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States.

The negotiations were completed and the EPA between the European Union and the SADC EPA States (comprising Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland and South Africa) was initialled on 15 July 2014 in Pretoria.

In January 2016 the European Commission presented proposals for the signing and conclusion of the agreement. The signing of the agreement was approved on 1 June by Council Decision (EU) 2016/1623 and took place on 10 June.
