Press Release: Trade secrets: freedom of expression must be protected, say legal affairs MEPs

The European Parliament's legal affairs committee approved on 16 June 2015 a draft law to help businesses obtain legal redress against the theft or misuse of their trade secrets

The committee clarified these plans to ensure respect for freedom of expression and information, including media freedom, and provide adequate protection for whistle-blowers.

A mandate was also approved for informal talks with the Council of the European Union.
