Press Release: Small claims procedure: MEPs strike a deal with Council

The European Parliament and the Council of the European Union reached an informal agreement on 23 June 2015 regarding a draft law to improve and broaden the use of a simplified procedure for low-value cross-border claims to recover money from abroad.

The new rules raise the threshold for claims covered by the procedure from EUR 2,000 to EUR 5,000. The text still needed to be formally approved by the two institutions.
